Continuing with his signature brand of subversive natural history Gibbens has returned to creepy crawlers with this watercolor illustration of a life-sized barn spider. In considering natural architecture found within the animal kingdom, Gibbens depicts the geometry of the spider’s web, and in doing so tips his hat to E. B. White’s classic tale.
